About Jodi's Team: Protecting Immigrant Children & Families

I hope you will join me in supporting a project and a cause that invests in the promise and resilience of immigrant youth and is a beacon of positivity, collaboration, and strength in these challenging times. I first started working with Terra Firma a decade ago when I was a young attorney and when the U.S. was seeing the first wave of "unaccompanied minors"--immigrant children seeking refuge in the United States without a parent or guardian. This collaboration between pediatricians, lawyers, and mental health professionals was innovative in providing group therapy alongside medical and legal services. It fast became a community for both the young people and the professionals who were providing services. I formed lasting friendships and saw my clients overcome the hardships that drove them to seek protection in the U.S. and the challenges they faced as new immigrants to thrive in their new communities with new, found families. I am immensely proud of the work that Terra Firma continues to do to protect immigrant children and families and how the organization has met external challenges. There will be difficulties ahead--attacks on immigrant communities, separation of immigrant families, erosion of health care and social programming--and I ask for your help in shoring up this excellent organization to meet these hardships and provide robust and inspirational care to immigrant children and families.
